Witches Be Brunchin'

Let’s face it, it wouldn’t be Halloween AT ALL without your best buds. So, why not throw a “Witches be Brunchin’’ party just for them? EVEN if the late night phone convos, with your BFF, HAVE given you some under eye baggage! “Susan, Steve is never going to take out the garbage. He’s just NOT!” “No, I don’t think Marcy gave you the stink eye at the PTO meeting last week...She just has GOOD resting witch face. I guarantee you she SAVES Tom thousands on botox every year.  Witches be trippin’!

The party mood was fantastically light and fun. I found a Michael Jackson, Scream vinyl on Amazon. Whoop! The record actually glows in the the dark. Shut. Up. How fun is that?! OK, get the beat…”I always feel like somebody’s watching me...and I got no privacy.” #toddlerlife #isingandblogatthesametime

To keep things simple and stress free, I opted for bakery bought goodies. I practiced “good witch” thinking and picked them up the morning of the brunch, to make sure they were extra fresh. Pumpkin spice doughnut muffin anyone? For my local followers, put Coastal Coffee Roasters at the top of your bakery list. Think overnight holiday guests and easy mornings. They have a blueberry scone that will knock your boots OFF!

If you can bake, my hat is off to you. I however, try to stay in my lane (which has absolutely nothing to do with cooking or baking)...it works out so much better, for all involved. On occasion, I have...been known to pimp-out my MIL. ️ Y’ALL, the woman can bake!! Honest to God. Bake. Otherwise, if you don’t have yourself “A Cheryl”, get your apron on.

I DID follow a super simple, no foul, Martha Stewart recipe. Red-Wine-macerated peaches, berries and oranges. It doesn’t get much easier than frozen fruit and red wine. I served it alongside of vanilla greek yogurt and crunchy granola. My guests LOVED it and the colors were beautiful for the season. Save this one for your Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.

I also put together a small charcuterie board with an apricot and brown sugar baked brie. *Tiiiiny hiccup realizing the filo dough was still frozen...in. my. lane. Ha! It turned out great!

Let’s be real, brunch is about the mimosas. 🥂 When party planning, don’t be a basic witch, you can always use any type of juice for a mixer. Life is about so much more than OJ, my pretty!
